starting tomorrow at the oakland civic -- convention center. paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 news. >> we were the first to bring you the story of a string of robberies at the carquinez bridge toll plaza. now three men are under arrest. ktvu's ken pritchett is live with the slow steady case that came together for investigators. ken? >> reporter: the chp says it happened this way, a car pulls up, it would stop, someone would get out and threaten the toll both worker. that happened 10 times at this toll lawser in the last -- plaza in the last year. at the carquinez bridge toll plaza with armed robbers hit the location repeatedly. >> they were hard to identify. >> reporter: he says three men have now been identified and arrested. robert larry white, christopher lee miller, david joseph morales. the chp believes they are responsible for 3-10 robberies here at the carquinez bridge toll plaza. the investigation was difficult because they used stolen cars. investigators had help from the police department in finding suspects through the use of record checks on traffic stops. and a series of car burgl

w >>> complete bay area news coverage starts right now, this is ktvu channel 2 news at noon. >> a teacher threatened and classes cancelled as investigators search for a bomb at a south bay school. >>> good afternoon, i am tori campbell. we begin this noontime with two south bay schools shut down for the day due to a bomb threat. the impacted schools are monta vista high school in cupertino and lincoln elementary, right next door. janine de la vega was the first reporter on the scene and joins us live with an update about the traffic situation there. >> reporter: the road just opened up within the past hour, because deputies did not find a bomb here at monta vista high school. at this hour they are following up on leads trying to track down who is responsible for making a threat against the teacher and the school. >>> from chopper 2 you can see deputies around monta vista high school and a bomb sniffing dog on campus, authorities say after 6:30 this morning a school official found graffiti on a wall. >> it was a specific threat here and the bomb was planted here. >> here is a

you know what it dash this is the street -- what it is. -- is the offramp. claudine wong, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> well, the victim of a hit and run in the south bay has died. it happened yesterday in san jose. ktvu's janine de la vega has been there since 4:30 this morning talking to people who say they know the dangers in the area. janine? >> reporter: well, dave this intersection quinnby road, the traffic is picking up. there are a lot of pedestrians in the area at that time when this happened. police say around 5:45 last night a man was crossing the intersection struck him and -- and was struck. his identify city not being released until his next of skin notified. police are looking for anyone who saw anything. police say it's disappointing that the driver acted so callous. >> it's sad that we have to -- you know, you have to obey the laws when you cross the street. obey the laws. >> reporter: we don't know if. victim was jaywalking or -- we don't know if the victim was jaywalking or was on the sidewalk. the speed limit on the road here is 40 miles an hour. we're waiting for a call

where children were sleeping. ktvu's janine de la vega is in san jose and spoke to the children's father. good morning, janine. >> reporter: the father told me his family has not slept much but any are breathing a sigh of relief. their little girl was just brought home from the hospital. this is after a truck ran off the road. you can see where the tire marks are here and it ran off the road and plowed down a fence there and smashed into a bedroom. police say the driver of the truck traveling eastbound on taylor veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into an apartment at the villa apartments on 23rd street. now, here's a look at the damage inside. the truck crashed into a room where an 8-year-old boy was sleeping and then a room where a 2-year-old girl was screaming. >> my baby's mother has a lot of scars because of the glass. but fortunately, my baby was no hit with no glass or anything. so she doesn't have any really physical damage but she did hit the dresser really hard. >> reporter: this is 2-year-old nalia. she didn't have a scratch on her and is doing okay. police say the driver
